The “First Voice Data Packet Transmitted” occurred in 1973. Linear Predictive Coding (LPC), a speech analysis method depending on a linear forecasting model that first analyzes and then resynthesizes reduced forms of speech and voice signals, laid the groundwork for contemporary VoIP technology in that year.
